Hi all,

I wondered if there was any interest in doing the occasional themed multiplayer 40k game on a Friday evening?

Nothing too epic given time constraints. I have a few ideas but would welcome any input if there is a desire to do this. Perhaps 2 or 3 players a side with 1000 points each to a theme/army

A couple of examples: Imperial knight army vs. an enlarged armoured task force; 'good vs evil' dreadnought or monstrous creature scrap; flyers and their contents vs. AA

Hopefully you get the idea - a chance to use some cool models in an unusual way for some fun multiplayer games.

Any interest?

Alex

I'm painting up a Steel Legion guard army, so First War for Armageddon?

Angron's Khorne legions vs. Guard & Space Wolves?

I be game for this but we would need a few more interested parties - I also have both Khorne and Pups which might help...

Did Blood Angels fight at Armageddon? If so I'd play

Also, would anyone fancy as many players as possible, 500-1000pv (depending on numbers) with random teams? Or even all v all "Arena style" matches?

No Blood Angels, but we could just fudge it so they were present.

Too bad, they didn't fight until the second and third wars

I was talking to David and he might be up for this. We could do the Third War for Armageddon instead with his Orks, my Steel Legion, Dean's Blood Angels, and Alex's Space Wolves. I think Marcus has Orks as well so if he was up for it he could ally with David.

How well do you know him? His orks looked a little 'iron warriory' last time I saw them...

David is up for this, so myself with Steel Legion, Alex and Space Wolves, Dean and Blood Angels vs. David and Marcus with their Orks.

Alex any suggestions on points split?

I think anything over 3.5k a side would be initially overdoing it on a club night even with multiple players per side (particularly as one side is orks!). I quite regularly play 2.5k in an evening but with deliberately fast-ish play armies (e.g. no psykers or elite heavy).

I suggest in a 3 vs. 2 scenario we try the simple 3k total(i.e. 1k x 3 vs 1.5k x 2) and stipulate no psykers and note the limitation on time in advance to ensure we don't hang about. Pre-game and deployment is, in my experience, key to completing multiplayer games in a timeframe, and a simple scenario would also help, which I can easily create. This size also means a standard table will be ok, even for the orks - suggest dawn of war deployment for ease...

If we end up with buckets of time we could learn from it, but that would be my first bid. Thoughts welcome?

I guess we just need to try and come up with an agreeable date to those involved to do this really -

The scenario I can do in advance if that is desirable to all? E.g. a combo of simple objective holding (points per turn of holding) and some kp stuff to complement - nothing complex

Perhaps aim to do this sometime in February?

Any Feb Friday except the 26th (early train and flight the next day) is good for me.

What about everyone else?

I'm pretty flexible in Feb at present...

I'll suggest the 19th as a starting point? You can all take your significant others out the previous weekend for Valentines day surely...
