Hi All,

As it seems a lot of us are going up probably need to organise lifts? First come first served, unless there is a more sensible combination of lifts.

Myself and Moz can take 2 plus ourselves - someone in / near Reading would be fine, we're near J11 side of town for picking people up who live that direction.

Planning on going up Friday afternoon (not too late, M1 is horrid on a Friday)for 2 nights

Hotels: Travelodge in Mansfield is £71.50 for a "family" room for 2 nights, which has 1xdouble plus pullout single or 2 twin beds and a pull out. This is non refundable, but given as we've bought tickets already....means if 3 dont mind sharing its less than £25 per person.

Anyway, if we get a list going etc, organise lifts would be good - and get practicing!

As a reminder of dates:

a single tournament at Maelstrom Games Eye of the Storm venue on the 26th and 27th March 2011

So people who are going, and who is going with who:

Rob Clayton
Moz Peachey
James Karch - lift with John
Pete - lift with Rob
JohnJ
Dan Fortnum - lift with David R
David Richardson

Please let me know who else to add to this, and lifts etc.

Likewise I anticipate going up on the Friday afternoon if that is cool with you Pete? I am also bringing friends Andrew and Simon so I think thats about all I can fit in.

I think if we get confimation of all that are going and how thye are getting there etc, then we can check if we are all staying on the Friday as well which may well be a discount on hotel (never know).

Anybody got a minibus liscence?

http://www.nationwidehireuk.co.uk/mpvs.php

£ 323.97 for 1200 on the Friday to 0930 on the Monday morning for a 15 seater, or is that too expensive?

Mike, at least you got one player in as well, and not just you on your lonesome. To be fair had to be bloody quick to get tickets. Can always do some cross over games with us in the build up. Hopefully it will be some good varied practice, rather than just Spaces Wolves Vs Space Wolves every Monday! (I Kid!)

I don't think its that bad a price, bit of a waste though to hire it for 3 days and just have it sitting there. Pain for the driver too. For that money I recon we could near enough get a limo there and back!

I don't think the minibus prices out that well - unless Spiky is willing to subsidise

I'm happy enough to drive - I imagine I'll have Dan, and can manage one more easily, two more with difficulty (in my current car...)

Ok, I think it is about time we get this finalised really.

Has anyone booked anything? I can organise booking if I know whos in etc.

Is everyone going up on Friday afternoon?

Preferences on hotel/location? (personally I quite like the idea od staying in Nottingham, especially if we are up there on Friday, nice place to have a few drinks etc, but whatever the majority thinks).

Post it up here and lets get it out of the way.

Well, I'm definately in for whatever hotel etc. we decide.

I'm planning on having the day off of work Friday aswell.

So yes would be more than happy to stay in Nottingham if that's what we decide.

I've gotten Friday off.

Nottingham is what, 10-15 miles away? That sounds fine to me (though I'm not a driver...).

Not fussed on hotel...a beds a bed ultimately! I'm assuming there will be way more choice in Nottingham...

Yes to hotel - I'm going up on Friday, definitely

Hotel in Nottingham - we normally stay at the Hylands hotel in beeston - cheap and cheerful, but out of town

Personally, I'd rather be walking distance/taxi from the venue, as long as it's not in an industrial estate somewhere, as drinking is required in the evening

Yes to Hotel - happy to be either in town or else we could rock up near to the venue on the Friday and take over teh hotel bar.....

Edit:

Had a look at "Nottingham centre" hotels and you're looking at:

- ~£60per room per night for bang in the middle 4*
http://www.laterooms.com/en/p1301/pv2018325/hotel-reservations/66511_park-plaza-nottingham-nottingham.aspx

HOWEVER this hotel doesnt have a carpark - which is a pain.

3* right in the centre were mainly *more* expensive.

- ~£85 per room per night for Crowne Plaza, parking £9.50 per night

http://www.laterooms.com/en/p1301/pv2018325/hotel-reservations/2197_royal-moat-house-hotel-nottingham.aspx

This probably makes it a bit too pricey.

Just outside of the centre was:

- £67 per room per night, free parking. Radisson http://www.laterooms.com/en/p1301/pv2018325/hotel-reservations/95307_park-inn-nottingham-nottingham.aspx

As an idea the travelodge at the top of the thread is about 2 miles from the venue, so drive or taxi for anyone too hungover / still drunk to drive.....

It's still £36 per room per night for the Travelodge as well, which means more money for booze....

Right ok, well its not a big deal as you all mentioned we can just taxi where ever.

So shall I just go for the travel lodge? I think its a fair option. Like Pete said a beds a bed (although I might not even make it back to mine )

Is everyone in then? So I have Pete, Moz, Rob, James, Dave, Andrew, Simon and myself on the list. Total of 8.

Is anyone else involved (Dave, what about Dan etc?)
